Raphael Alessandro McMahon is an analyst on the Latin America desk of BISI with an interest in the prevailing political, economic, social and cultural trends of the region. Born in the UK to an Italian mother and Australian father, he holds a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge and is fluent in Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and English. He has lived in Cuba and Colombia and his articles on Latin American and European affairs have appeared in Latin America Reports, EU Reports, El Nacional, and Entrepreneur Magazine. He also is a co-head of the Latin America desk for the political risk advisory Geopol Report.
