Mikaela is an analyst with a strong background in political risk, international migration, and public policy. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, she has gained diverse international experience, having lived and worked in Kampala, Uganda, and London, England. Mikaela holds an MSc with Distinction in International Migration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics, along with dual BAs in International Studies and History.

Her career highlights include a blend of governmental, private, and non-profit legal and research-based positions. This includes extensive experience with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, contributing to the finalisation of over 70,000 annual refugee claims. With a blend of legal and analytical expertise, Mikaela has developed a keen ability to navigate complex geopolitical and legal environments.

She is proficient in English and French, has advanced research skills, and is deeply committed to humanitarian work, as demonstrated by her involvement with the non-profit organisations Uganda For Her Initiative and Kidzz Helping Kidzz.
