Lessons from Ukraine for Western Strategy

The Bloomsbury Intelligence and Security Institute (BISI) had the pleasure of hosting a high-level conference at King's College London, in partnership with King's Defence, Security and Policy, the Centre for Defence Studies, the NATO Defence College Foundation, the Kyiv School of Economics and the One Decision Podcast.

This conference brought together senior Ukrainian and Western experts to discuss how the Ukraine War can inform Western strategy and preparedness across the domains of information warfare and counter-propaganda, protection of critical national infrastructure and wartime economic resilience. Besides the keynote speech delivered by former Minister of Defence Sir Ben Wallace, these insightful sessions saw the participation of four former ministers from three different countries, renowned academics and economists, CEOs and accomplished intelligence practitioners, all accompanied by a live session of the One Decision Podcast, where former Chief of MI6 Sir Richard Dearlove shared his insights on the ongoing conflict.

We were truly honoured to encourage multilateral dialogue between Western and Ukrainian experts in an open and inclusive setting, welcoming both crowds of students and the broader public. The exchange of knowledge was constructive and deeply aligned with our continued commitment to delivering free, accessible and meaningful events.
