Alex Blackburn

ANALYST

Alex is an Analyst at BISI who specialises in the study of global terror networks, their structures, operational tactics, and recruitment methodologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Royal Holloway and is currently pursuing an MSc in Security Studies at UCL, where he is deepening his expertise in contemporary security challenges. Before joining BISI, Alex worked as a research intern at the Policy Research Unit in the House of Commons, where he produced policy briefs and urgent questions for Conservative Members of Parliament, supporting debates and the transition to the opposition benches. Alex has a particular passion for violent non-state actors and their evolving strategies in response to counterterrorism efforts and he contributes to threat assessments aimed at mitigating the risks posed by global terror networks. Driven by a passion for education and analysis, Alex is committed to shedding light on the evolving landscape of international security. His work contributes to a more informed and proactive approach to counterterrorism efforts, fostering greater understanding and preparedness in an increasingly complex global environment.
